This policy explains what data SkipEdit (SkipEdit) collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We collect only what we need to turn your recording and slides into a finished video.

1. What we collect

Account data: your email address and authentication details (managed by our auth provider).
Content you upload: your lecture recordings and slide PDFs.
Content we generate for you: transcripts, slide images, proposed slide timings, and the rendered video.
Usage and technical data: basic logs needed to operate and secure the Service (e.g. job status, timestamps, error information).

We do not run third-party advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data.

2. How we use your data

To provide the Service: transcribe your speech, align your slides, render your video, and let you download it.
To manage your account, credits, and purchases.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
To communicate with you about your account or support requests.

3. Who processes your data (sub-processors)

We use trusted providers to run the Service. Each processes data only to perform its function:

Cloudflare (R2 storage & content delivery): stores your uploaded files and rendered videos, and serves the website.
RunPod (GPU processing): runs transcription and video rendering on your files.
Anthropic (AI): performs the single slide-alignment step. It receives your transcript text and slide information for that call and, under its commercial terms, does not use your content to train its models.
Supabase (authentication & database): manages your login and stores account, job, and credit records.
Paddle (payments): our merchant of record; processes your payment and billing details. We do not store your card numbers.

4. How long we keep it — storage is temporary

Your files are stored only temporarily. Automatic deletion rules remove them on this schedule:

Uploaded recordings and slides, and intermediate processing files: deleted automatically about 7 days after upload.
Finished videos: available for you to download for about 30 days, then deleted automatically — so please download and keep your own copy.

Account and billing records are retained while your account is active or as required by law. You can request earlier deletion of your content or account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

5. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the Service — mainly to keep you signed in and to support secure checkout. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Uploads go directly to storage using temporary, scoped links, and access to systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data on servers located outside Malaysia. Where that happens, we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, including Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].

9. Children

The Service is intended for educators and adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be notified where appropriate.
